About Sam

Sam shares the same disease as his younger brother: looking at any rusty car and saying "Yes, that's perfect." Sam has owned 19 cars along with his brother in varying states of accelerated decay. His love of cars launched him into a career of manufacturing and engineering.

Sam has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and now works as a Field Service Engineer for Ford Motor Company. He works with local San Diego dealerships to ever improve repair capability and as an expert witness for the corporate defense.

Sam spent the first half of 2021 building his project car for the move to California. In San Diego, Sam could only stay idle for so long before insanity struck again. Sam left sunny San Diego for much sunnier Brisbane, Australia. He's now switching gears with his other hand (they-drive-on-the-other-side joke) and traveling Oceania for 2022.

Sam's Recent Talk to Union College

About Alex

Alex is never happier than knowing the whereabouts of every car under $1,000 within 100 miles of his current location. While he usually spends most of his time focusing on his studies at Swarthmore College, he recently took the opportunity to take a gap semester to finish a special project: The Bitchin' BMW.

Alex purchased his first car, a four door '87 325i when he was 13. He considered it the last well-taken-care-of e30 for less than a $1000. Later, he got exotic with a brief fling with a rusty '03 Miata. Afterwards, he lustfully scoured the internet for another Bavarian gem but only found ash for crackpipe prices. After a bout of joint "laxity" and coincidental retirement from wrestling, he sought to prove nothing was beyond repair and purchased a $400 '87 325is shell that definitely "had all the original pieces."

Although the car didn't change in all the four years it sat in various garages, Alex changed quite a bit as worked different jobs (some behind a desk and others involving wrenches), graduated high-school and began his college experience. He even managed to own a few more cars in the meantime; of primary importance was a pesky 2000 328ci coupe that never seemed to fail at failing. Thus he was finally ready to give the Bitchin' Beemer its time in the sun... more specifically nearly 3,700 miles of sun.
